3rd Marking Period

#21: 3D Shapes with SketchUp

I explored with SketchUp. First for 21A, I made regular 2D shapes with the stencil tool. For 21B, I use the push/pull tool. For 21C, I did the same thing but created my name. Once I had my name, I used the push/pull tool on each letter.

#22: Assignment 1
For this object, you have to make the base of the shape which is the rectangle. Then you have use the push/pull tool to make the figure look 3D. You have measure the rectangles using the measure tape tool. Creating this object requires the shape tool, measure tape tool, along with the push/pull tool.

#22: Assignment 2
You need to count the number of boxes that are on the actual picture. I use the measuring tape tool once again to adjust the number of feet to match the number of boxes on the actual picture. I did the push/pull tool again on each rectangle. Lastly, I filled in the object.

#22: Assignment 3
First I counted the diamonds as one feet each in the picture. Like before, I'd measure the boxes with the tape measure tool to have it the same as the picture. You can easily type in the number of feet you wish to get instead of dragging the shape to get the desired length. Once you get the 2D shape, you use the push/pull tool to have it become a 3D shape. As always, I then filled in the shape with a color I liked.

#22: Assignment 4
In this assignment I made a 8 by 6 by 5 box. Then I used the pen and measuring tool to cut out certain parts of the box to have it match the original one in the image. Finally, I filled the entire object with a color.

#22: Assignment 5
I made a 8 by 6 by 5 box the way I did in the previous object. Then I just cut pieces of the box using the measuring tool to assist me along with the pen.

#22: Assignment 6
This box has the measurements of 8ft by 6ft by 5ft. I used the push/pull tool as usual and then filled in the faces of the object.

#22: Assignment 7

This box is 8ft x 5ft x 6ft. I started off with making a larger box and then sculpting the rest by using the tape measure tool. Then I used the push/pull tool.

#22: Assignment 8
The measurements for this box is 9 by 7 by 5. I used the push/pull tool.

#22: Assignment 9

The measurements for this box is 9x6x4. Once again I used the measuring tool and the push/pull tool.

#22: Assignment 10

This box is 11 by 6 by 3. I had to push/pull to push the back all the way out. The push/pull tool is a necessity and the measuring tool as usual.

#22: Assignment 11

This box is 8 x 6 x 5. Once I get the slope, I push/pull everything back. I make a slant to cut that out and then fill everything in.

#22: Assignment 12

I basically did the same thing as the previous block. Find the slope and cut a slant out. This is 9 x 6 x4.

Quiz #6
I started off by making a large box and then creating the indent within the shape. The indent goes 3x2 and then the cut by the top of the shape is 2 ft. Then color each side of the shape a different color. I then opened it up onto Photoshop and copied and pasted the shape from the handout, then pasted it onto the shape I made. Finally, I added the text (title).

#23: Gingerbread House
First, I found a picture on Google of a gingerbread house that I liked. Then I created a house with the measurements of 3 by 6. I then decorated using the freehand draw tool to create the frosting on the roof. I then used the rectangular tool to create windows. I used the circular tool to create little details. I then used the push/pool tool to create a nice 3D effect. Lastly, I colored in the house to the colors that match the image I found on Google which were brown and white.

#24: 3D Gingerbread House
I found a background that I thought would fit my gingerbread house and I chose candyland. I opened that on Photoshop as a background. I then made a foreground layer to place the gingerbread house in. I duplicated that layer and moved the gingerbread house in the duplicated layer a little to the left. I editted and adjusted the color to remove the blue and green. Then in the other layer, I unchecked only the red. Lastly, I added text.

#25: Animated Power Button
First, I chose my background as pink. Then I started the circles. The circles included specific blending options such as gradient affects and duplication. Then I downloaded the actual power button to drag it into my circles. With that, I adjusted the blending options and then duplicated the group. With the duplicated group, I changed up some of the blending options. That's when I did the animation frames. At first, you set the time to 10 seconds, then after each duplication, set the time to 0 seconds by the end. It was all about timing and duplication as well. Can't forget about the text to finish the assignment up! A GIF is a short animation. By definition it is known as a set of standards and file format for shortage of digital color images. Animation works with time frames. In each frame, there is a different movement. Once everything is put all together, everything should flow well and move together.

#26: Showcase
I started off by making a room using specific measurements (1599px x 484px).Then I made smaller rectangles and used the guidelines to help guide me. Once all of that is finished, I adjusted the blending options so my room would look 3D and came out grey. After all of that, I started working on the lights. I made an ellipse on the ceiling. I changed the blending options and then made a smaller ellipse, about half the size as the first one, and placed it in the first ellipse. I cleared the layer style of the second ellipse and made it a white color. Then I made an ellipse on the floor layer and filled that with white with an opacity of 40%. Next, I made an ellipse in the middle. On top of that, I drew a trapezoid from the diameter of the light to the ellipse in the middle layer. That acts as a light. I made a group with everything and duplicated that group two more times. I then found 3 different lipsticks, saved them as a JPEG and opened them as a new file on Photoshop. With that, I used the magic wand to select everything and then I hit the inverse button to only catch the lipstick. Then I copy and pasted that onto my showcase, with it being resized.

This semester we used 5 different softwares. My favorite software personally is Photoshop because you can just edit a picture straight from the software. Adobe Illustrator is the hardest in my opinion because you have to make everything from scratch. We used Sketch Up, Publisher, and Powerpoint. Powerpoint is the use of slides. People make slideshows with Powerpoint. This class is definitely useful in our lives and looks really great on our resumes.

#27: Brochure

For this assignment, I used the software Publisher which is something we learned how to use atthe beginning of the year. I used the Brochure template. On the first page, I just discussed my first two periods of school along with the textbooks we use in the classes. Then I talked about how I get to school every morning along with how I like the school including my schedule. On the second page, I discussed the rest of my classes including Spanish, Multimedia, English, Gym/Lab, and Earth Science.
